Stefano Gelli, livornese, si avvicina alla fotografia nel 1986.
È appassionato di sport e il suo intento è di fotografarlo ad alti livelli. Obiettivo che raggiunge nel 1997 quando con l'aiuto della pubblicazione "Un anno di rugby" ha inizio una stretta collaborazione con l'agenzia milanese Omega Fotocronache e in quel periodo vede pubblicate le sue foto sulle principali testate nazionali. Dal 1996 al 1999 lavora per la rivista di triathlon "Triathlete" . Nel 2000 alcune sue foto di paesaggio vengono utilizzate per un calendario a diffusione nazionale.
Nel 2011 si specializza nella fotografia panoramica sferica e con questa tecnica documenta alcuni momenti del naufragio del Concordia
per il magazine tedesco "Der Spiegel".
Negli ultimi anni si sta dedicando alla fotografia di paesaggio day time.
Dal 2019 è Partner Europeo per KASE Filters Europe
e dal 2024 è Testimonial italiano per SIGMA Lenses.

Stefano Gelli, from Livorno (Italy), starts approaching photography in 1986. He is passionate about sports and his goal is to photograph it at high levels. Aim that he achieves in 1997 when, with the help of the publication "A year of Rugby", he starts a close collaboration with the Milanese agency Omega Fotocronache. At that time his photos are published on the major national magazines. From 1996 to 1999 he works for the triathlon magazine "Triathlete" and in the year 2000 some of his photos are published on a national diffusion calendar.
In recent years he specialized in spherical panoramic photography and by this technique he documented some moments of the Concordia shipwreck for the German magazine "Der Spiegel". Thanks to the experience gained over the years, he is nowadays studying landscapes photography.
Since 2019 he is an European Partner KASE Filters
and since 2024 he is an Italian Testimonial for SIGMA Lenses.
He is a professional photographer.
